Walk the Pink Carpet Breast Cancer Awareness Gala
A Community United hosts the annual "Walk the Pink Carpet" Breast Cancer Awareness Gala to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer support services in rural North Carolina.
The event brings together community members, healthcare professionals, and breast cancer survivors for an evening of celebration, education, and fundraising.
Funds raised during the gala support ACU's programs that provide financial assistance, emotional support, and educational resources to individuals and families affected by breast cancer.

Visionaries with a Shared Goal
Driven by a deep passion for creating positive change, the founders of A Community United (ACU) embarked on a mission to uplift individuals and families in rural communities. Dan Holder, a former law enforcement officer and local business owner, takes great pride in his North Carolina roots. Alongside his wife, Lynette Holder, and their son, Deshon Wise, they are dedicated to strengthening the communities they cherish.
As cancer survivors, Dan and Lynette understand the power of resilience and support, inspiring ACU’s commitment to health, empowerment, and community well-being. Growing up in rural NC, they value the strong family ties and shared connections that define these communities. Together, they lead ACU with a vision of unity, opportunity, and sustainable growth for all.
